Research Interests
Dr Nick Pucino is a Physical Geographer with a strong research interest in coastal remote sensing and geospatial analysis. He started his academic career as a geomorphologist in Switzerland. However, as his true passion is coastal science, he decided to move to Australia for his Masters, where he eventually graduated with a distinction degree. During his Masters he dealt with coastal sediment-budget approximation, morphodynamics and shoreline monitoring, volumetric UAV surveys and analysis, dGPS surveys, climatic and sediment data analysis (wave, wind, sand samples) and remote sensing.
Nick worked as a GIS analyst intern for the Swiss Federal Institute of Research (WSL) and as Coastal Scientist intern for the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) in New South Wales. He also presented part of his Masters thesis at the 2016 NSW Coastal Conference in Coffs Harbour.
