Research Interests

Dr Mary Young leads the seafloor mapping program and research in seascape ecology within the Deakin Marine Mapping Group and is a Senior Lecturer in Coastal and Marine Science at Deakin University. Her research focuses on broad-scale eco-physical patterns in marine systems, integrating seafloor habitats and oceanographic processes with species, community, and ecosystem distributions. Her work aims to deepen our understanding of climate change impacts and inform marine spatial planning.
