Congratulations to Professor Graeme Hays from the Deakin Centre For Marine Science who has been recognised by the Australian Academy of Science as a contributor to the best published Australian research work of 2025.

The research paper, 'Global tracking of marine megafauna space use reveals how to achieve conservation targets', was authored by an international team of eight scientists as part of the global MegaMove research initiative, which uses large scale animal tracking to inform conservation action.

This work has been nominated for a Frontiers Planet Prize which will be awarded later this year, the world's biggest prize for transformative, science-based breakthroughs enabling healthy lives on a healthy planet.
